To find a German-speaking pharmacist for a large pharmacy in Switzerland. The recruitment challenge is that the pharmacy is located in a small town, which is not a well-known and attractive place for relocating professionals. Also in Switzerland it is necessary to have the abilitation to work in a pharmacy (the master study is not enough) so that we can ask the MEBEKO (government office) to recognize the candidate as a pharmacist in Switzerland.
Our search was focused on German-speaking countries such as Germany, Austria, and we also conducted executive searches of specialists from our internal database who speak German and are interested in similar career changes.
We had to present a large number of candidates (more than 20 specialists) and conduct a large number of interviews before we found two suitable pharmacists. The challenge was also budgetary restrictions, as for the initial period of work the employer cannot provide a budget that is much higher than the specialist's earnings in his home country. The employer must be motivated primarily by new experience and development to make such a decision. The whole process from the start of work on vacancies to the acceptance of offers was released in 3 months, thanks to the hard work of our team and close cooperation with partners from Switzerland.
In this case study, we faced the challenge of finding a specialist at the intersection of IT and the pharmaceutical industry. The candidate had to have not only strong IT knowledge (like DevOps and system administrator), but also a background in pharmaceuticals and laboratory research. The client company has developed unique software for laboratories and pharmaceutical companies, and this specialist would have to work closely on the client's premises in the implementation of the purchased software.
We were able to develop a search strategy using various non-standard platforms among the professional community of the specialists we needed. Together with the customer, we also developed a system of adaptation and training for new employees, covering missing knowledge and skills in particularly narrow domain areas or with highly specialised work tools.
At the moment we have been cooperating with this customer for more than a year and every month we hire 1-2 new specialists to work on existing projects and to start new ones with the company's software buyers in different locations (Germany, England, Switzerland, Romania). During this period we have become a part of our customer's team and can submit the first candidates for consideration within 5-7 working days after the job opening.
To find veterinary specialists (Veterinary specialist/ assistant for Test Laboratory) who are fluent in German and English and are interested in further development in the field of research and clinical testing.
Our search was focused on candidates graduating from higher education institutions in Poland. Geographically, we considered a region closer to Germany, where there is a high probability of specialists learning German to make their experience more universal. We were looking for candidates who had already had working experience in Germany or had done an internship/ training during their studies.
As a result of the online recruitment processes, we presented a number of candidates for consideration, three of whom, after interviews, were invited for an offline meeting and a few days' in-house visit. During the in-person visits, the candidates were able to get to know the entire team, work together on daily tasks and understand what to expect after the start of co-operation. The company was also able to see the candidates' abilities and professional capabilities, assess soft skills and make a hiring decision. As a result of the meeting, 2 out of 3 candidates were hired and successfully continue working in the company. The whole process from the start of work on vacancies to the acceptance of offers was released in 2.5 months, thanks to the hard work of our team and close cooperation with partners from Germany.
